Druze Scout Organization

The Druze Scout Organization in Israel has today close to  6,000 members who are active in 24 tribes that stretch from Daliyat al-Carmel to the Golan Height, in the north of israel

The organization was founded in 1954 by the late Dr. Salman Fallah, beginning its journey at that time with eight tribes: Shefar'am, Peki'in, Samia, Hurfish, Abu Sanan, Beit Jen, Isfahan and Dalit al-Carmel.

In 1955, Dr. Salman Fallah was elected as the chairman of the organization and represented it in the process of establishing the Scout Association in Israel. Dr. Fallah signed the Scripture Foundation's Charter at the founding ceremony held at the office of then the-President of israel Mr. Yitzhak Ben-Zvi.

The organization operated as an independent organization until the establishment of the various Scout associations (NSAs) and organizations (. At that time, the Arab and Druze Scout movement was established, which included the four organizations: Muslims, Orthodox, Catholics and Druze. Along the way, the Catholic Scouts and the Muslim Scouts parted ways with the movement and the Druze Scouts organization continued as a member of the movement until 2018. On January 15, 2015,Labib Abu Hamoud was elected as the chairman of the organization.

At the same time, the Druze Scout Organization "Bnei Maruf", founded by MK(member of parliament) Mr. Hemed Amar, also operated, so that at that time two Druze organizations operated. As of 2017, it was decided to merge the two organizations into one organization called the Druze Scout Organization "Bnei Maruf".

The organization's activities are based on the values of the Scout movement: Scouting, camping, social activities with an emphasis on preserving the Druze heritage and tradition, education for good citizenship and guiding the youth on a positive path for the community and a better future.

The organization operates on the basis of a work plan which is subject to the activities of the Scout Federation  in Israel. The organization participates in all activities that take place on behalf of the Federatione  association, such as various courses, including the Wood badge, the Scouting badge, peace envoys and delegations abroad. In addition, there is an annual organizational program that operates in all tribes, young leaders  training seminars,  , trips, marches and summer camps.
